Mumbai, the city that never slows down, is ready to switch from hustle mode to geek mode. Mumbai Comic Con returns with the biggest pop-culture celebrations to the city scheduled for May 9 and 10 at the Jio World Convention Centre, BKC in the city.
This year features an exciting lineup of international guests. Multiple Eisner and Harvey Award–winning Canadian cartoonist Ramón K. Pérez, known for Nova: Resurrection, The Amazing Spider-Man: Learning to Crawl, All-New Hawkeye, and Stillwater, will be joining for the Mumbai edition.
Fans will also meet the legendary duo Yvon and Christian Tremblay, creators of the iconic animated series SWAT Kats, for special sessions and fan interactions. Anime lovers are in for a treat with Japanese voice actor Taito Ban, the voice of Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling, and producer Atsushi Kaneko, who will share behind-the-scenes stories and interact live with fans. Adding to the excitement, anime theme singer Hiroshi Kitadani will perform live, popularly known for the famous opening theme from One Piece “We Are!”.
The convention will also put spotlight on 25 Indian comic creators, including Faisal Mohammed, creator of viral comic strip Garbage Bin, Savio Mascarenhas, Group Art Director of Amar Chitra Katha, cartoonist Sumit Kumar, founder of Bakarmax, and popular illustrator and entrepreneur, Alicia Souza. Fans can meet them through panels, meet-and-greets, and interactive sessions that celebrate India’s growing comics and storytelling scene.
The Mumbai edition will also host a special live panel, From Jugaad to Jupiter: Bollywood’s Sci-Fi Era, featuring an exciting lineup with Javed Jaaferi, Abbas Momin, Alok Sharma, and Baba Jogeshwari.
Cosplay remains one of Comic Con’s biggest attractions. Fans can showcase their favourite characters and compete in the Daily Cosplay Contest for cash prizes while creativity takes centre stage.
The entertainment lineup includes live performances by 99Side, Voctronica, Mooz, and The Indian Jam Project, plus stand-up comedy by Siddhartha Shetty, Tushar Poojari, and Kumar Varun.
Visitors can dive into a wide range of immersive experience zones, from the Maruti Suzuki Arena Fan Experience Zone and Crunchyroll’s anime hub to the NODWIN Gaming Arena and Lenovo Legion’s Reach Your Impossible Zone. Add to that the StrikeWorld experience, Audible’s storytelling space, and a special Supergirl zone, each packed with games, activities, and interactive activities for fans of every age.
It promises a high-energy weekend celebrating stories, creators, and fandom in true Mumbai style, so don’t be surprised if you spot Iron Man and Captain America fighting over a bite of vada pav.
